During the month of October my work will be on the walls at the Highlands Ranch Public Library here in Colorado! In an open call for artists to competitively submit their work for consideration last winter, my photography was selected by an arts committee. Each artist selected is given a choice of a month for a solo exhibit.
I have no idea how many artists competed (maybe only 12?), but that’s okay! I’m still excited. This is a great way to get some exposure for my images. I really appreciate how this and other libraries serve not just as places to find materials like books and CDs and DVDs, but really provide a venue for their communities to interact and share. Also, the artist liaison was a great ambassador for the library!
Every day during October I will feature, here on my spinview.com blog, one of the 33 photos on display at the library–some of them never before released for public viewing. Now those of you who can’t travel to this library will be able to see the exhibit and browse virtually. As always, thanks for sharing your comments and feedback.
